Southeast Iowa Hamfest - Sunday, October 2, 2016

Plan to attend the 31st Annual hamfest sponsored by the Muscatine and Washington Area Amateur Radio Clubs, and held at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds on the first Sunday of October. This year's hamfest will feature:

  • Outside Flea Market space is FREE with gate ticket

  • Outside electrical hookup (fee required)

  • Saturday evening pre-hamfest Wiener and Brat Roast at 6:00 p.m.

  • Wiener meal - $5.00 adults; $3.00 children - 12 years old & under.

  • Brat meal - $6.00 adults; $4.00 children - 12 years old & under.

  • Commercial vendors

  • Vendor reservation form

  • Vendors planning to be here

  • Extensive drive-in Flea Market

  • Amateur Radio license exams, details below

  • QSL checking by Tom Vavra, WB8ZRL

  • DXCC, VUCC, WAS, and WAC applications.

  • Requires filled out application and stamped envelope to mail it to the ARRL.

  • Overnight parking

  • Electricity available on site

  • New radios, antennas and test equipment

  • Dealers with wire, cable, connectors and more

  • Computer dealers with new equipment & software

  • CB equipment available in Flea Market

  • Food & beverage on grounds

Gates Open At 7:00 A.M. Gate admission: $7.00 with 1 door prize drawing entry.

Visitors using Interstate 80 should exit south at exit 259. The Fairgrounds are just south of the business district.

No Test After 11:30 a.m. on Sunday

  • FCC License Exams for all classes. Walk-ins welcome.

  • NCVEC Form 605 must be completed by the candidate and will be provided at the site. It also may be downloaded from the ARRL VEC.

  • Examinees must present personal picture ID (no exceptions).

  • If licensed, bring original and photocopy of current FCC license and/or CSCEs.

  • Exam fee as allowed by FCC.

Show up around 6:15-6:30 pm to eat before the meeting. This is an "OPEN" meeting. All are invited to attend.

Club Repeater - KC0AQS

The KC0AQS/R 146.31/91 repeater located at the Muscatine Community College campus.


The repeater is an open access machine for the use of all licensed amateurs.


The repeater requires 192.8 Hz CTCSS for access.
