Operation STABLE MERCURY

The Muscatine County ARES team will be participating in Operation STABLE MERCURY on April 23rd & 24th, 2018. This is a statewide communications interoperability exercise that will include participants from Federal, State, County, Local, and Volunteer entities and organizations who are involved with Public Safety and Emergency Responses to disaster events.Amateur Radio operators may be asked to fill a variety of roles in this exercise, and your responses to the questions below will help the event planners find a suitable role for you to learn and participate.

Setup: Sunday, April 22 - EOC to arrive at 4:00pm

Operation: Monday, April 23 - 7:00am to 5:00pm at MCC grounds behind McAvoy Center

Tuesday, April 24 - 7:00am to 4:30pm - Tear down to be completed by 8:00pm when EOC is picked up.

If you are participating with the MCARES team, and you have not yet registered, please do so at:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZ2e7UPgLbprITjvHFiUhIoWwtypCc0j3_eLA_5YX5ZkY4cA/viewform

This is a very important exercise for our team and we will have reporters there from Muscatine Magazine as well as the Muscatine Journal. Other high profile guests are also scheduled to visit us during this operation.

We plan to put up the antenna system before the EOC arrives so we can assemble equipment as soon as the trailer gets there and put the systems on-the-air prior to the exercise. More details as to what time on Sunday the antennas system will be put up as it gets closer to next Sunday.

This is a great opportunity for our team and we need to do our best to carry out our mission as the state has deemed our team as a special communications "White Cell" for this exercise.

Team member should watch their email for more information concerning this exercise.

Thank you,

C Scott Richardson - NØMRZ - EC - MCARES
