IA NE SET - March 23rd

This is a combined SET with Iowa and Nebraska ARES. It will begin on our local .31/.91 repeater and progress to Winlink. You don't have to have Winlink setup on your radio to participate in this exercise. Just download the program and use the internet to send your traffic. (You will need to register and get an @WInlink.org address however). The only time Telnet will not be allow is from 9:00am to 9:30am when it is restricted to radio only communications. Then you can resume with Telnet.

This is the perfect time to try out WInlink if you have not already done so. ARES teams across both states will be participating. More small exercises will take place throughout the year. We will be emailng out a form that lists all of the frequencies that we will be using for this exercise.

Get with Scott, Bruce or Patrick if you have questions on how to set up Winlink Express on your computer. It is a very simple program that is basically an email client for amateur radio. Bruce - WBØGAG is heading up this event for Iowa ARES, and our group has been asked to put it together.
